Training Language Models to Self-Correct via Reinforcement Learning

Paper summary

SCoRe trains multi-turn self-correction through online reinforcement learning. The method targets failure modes of naive correction training and evaluates improvements in revising reasoning answers without requiring external feedback at each inference revision.

Relevance to the project

Pairs with intrinsic-correction failures: useful feedback behavior can depend on prior externally evaluated training. Separate runtime autonomy from the origin of correction capabilities.

Language modelsReasoningReinforcement learning

Learned correction remains task-dependent and does not guarantee truthful revisions.
