Self-Adapting Language Models
Paper summary
SEAL has a language model generate adaptation data and update directives, then applies supervised parameter updates. Reinforcement learning trains useful self-edits using downstream performance after adaptation.
Relevance to the project
Directly relevant to the distinction between generated update proposals and externally supplied update execution and evaluation. Compare with the project's fixed updater controlling mutable F.
Self-adaptation remains dependent on specified training and reward machinery.
