Pythia: A Suite for Analyzing Large Language Models Across Training and Scaling
Paper summary
Pythia releases a controlled family of language models across sizes with shared data ordering and many intermediate checkpoints. Case studies use this record to analyze memorization, data-frequency effects, and changes during training.
Relevance to the project
A strong reference for controlled initialization, checkpoints, and fair scale comparisons. Similar records would help distinguish inherited structure from developed behavior in the simulation.
Training checkpoints are evidence artifacts, not proof of autonomous development.
