Self-Instruct: Aligning Language Models with Self-Generated Instructions
Paper summary
Self-Instruct bootstraps instructions and examples from a pretrained language model, filters invalid or redundant generations, and fine-tunes on the resulting data. Evaluations show improved instruction following.
Relevance to the project
A self-generated-data example with explicit filtering and inherited capabilities. Relevant to provenance of behavior and optional model adaptation.
The pipeline does not demonstrate independent invention of its evaluation criterion.
