SentencePiece: A simple and language independent subword tokenizer and detokenizer for Neural Text Processing
Paper summary
SentencePiece trains subword tokenization directly from raw sentences without requiring language-specific word segmentation. C++ and Python implementations and translation experiments demonstrate the approach and compare configuration choices.
Relevance to the project
A practical reference only if a language-model component is later used. Tokenization must be recorded as part of the input representation when comparing models.
Subword units are not adopted meanings for the engine's d-float state.
