YaRN: Efficient Context Window Extension of Large Language Models

Paper summary

YaRN extends the usable context of rotary-position language models through positional interpolation and associated adjustments. Experiments evaluate longer-context adaptation with less training than earlier extension methods.

Relevance to the project

Relevant to optional long-context models and comparisons of accessible versus effective memory. Enlarged windows still need functional retrieval and integration tests.

Language modelsPositional encodingLong-context processing

Context extension does not create persistent model memory or autonomous adaptation.
